The History of Penis Enlargement – Part 2

Methods of penis enlargement range from manually stretching the penis shaft, to hanging weights on the tip and the scrotum. Some reports even go so far as to suggest that some men actually cut a slit down the shaft of their penis to help enlargement.

In all this madness safety and security was sacrificed just so that these men could have a bigger penis.

Throughout history we can read about different tribes and cultures using penis enlargement and Anthropologist Margaret Mead reported that Polynesian men used to stretch their penises by wrapping them in a woven sleeve made from a plant fibre. Once their penis was inside this sleeve a rock or other heavy object was hung from the end of it. Painful I know but they guys were very serious about their penis enlargement.

Whilst the above example shows the weight hanging was used many centuries ago, it really only became common practice about two thousands years ago. This practice was very popular in Africa where men used to hang weights on the end of their penis in order to stretch the shaft tissue. Whilst it may have been successful in producing longer penises it also had the repercussion of diminishing penile girth.

In ancient Arabic times the size of ones penis also held great importance and young Arab boys were shown how to enlarge their penises using a penile exercise known as the jelq. The jelq which is quite similar to masturbation techniques involves massaging a semi-erect penis thus enhancing blood pressure within the penis shaft. If done correctly and regularly results can start to shown within one month.

The last penis enlargement method to be invented came during the 20th century and this came in the form of the penis enlargement pump. Originally invented for those suffering from erectile dysfunction or impotence this device was designed to create a vacuum effect drawing blood into the penis and forming an erection.

There are however some safer alternatives that have been practiced throughout history and these methods involved the use of herbs and in particular aphrodisiac herbs and penile exercises.

Chinese herbal medicine including yohimbe and ginseng were used to improve sexual appetite and enhance the penis. These herbs are still used today and research has shown that really are successful in promoting natural penis enlargement.

Now that you know the history of penis enlargement and its importance throughout the ages we can now progress onto more important aspects of penis enlargement such as what you can do today to get a bigger penis.
